Oxford House to Expand Delaware's Recovery Housing

In case you missed it, the News Journal ran an article on the planned expansion of Oxford House from 3 to 14 recovery houses in Kent and Sussex County. Included were some impressive stats on how effective the houses’ approach is:

A 2005 study by DePaul University tracked nearly 900 people in more than 200 Oxford House programs for 27 months, and found that more than 80 percent had stayed clean and sober, Malloy said.
Also, resident Jim Martin shared his inspiring success story.

"It's just an amazing gift, to wake up in the morning and be sober, and know my guys are going to help me keep sober," he said.
Oxford House is clearly making a difference. It’s good to know they will be expanding so more Delawareans in recovery can take advantage of what they offer.

I would like to get into an oxford house. I am however prescribed suboxone and do not know if that is acceptable in an oxford house. After 8 years clean I relapsed for two years and am currently free of drugs but prescribed suboxone. I have seperated from my wife as well due to my drug usage.

Greetings to the Brandywine Counseling community...My name is Jim Martin (cell# 215-740-4622) After I successfully established an Oxford House for men in Lewes called the Quakertown House and I have filled all 8 beds, I am now organizing an effort to establish a new Men's Oxford House in Millsboro, DE which is centrally located to the nearby chicken plants. This will be a brand new home with 10 bedrooms and the weekly rent will be $100 per week. The house should be ready within a few weeks. So please, if you know of anyone seeking a safe and affordable private room in a recovery program, please call me on my cell at # 215-740-4622. -Jim Martin (founder of Oxford House-Quakertown Lewes

As the Housing Committee Chairman for both Kent and Sussex County, our committee just opened a new Oxford House (a clean and sober recovery home) for men located near the Coolspring section of Lewes. (The home has room for 6 men.) The rent is $100 per week and you must have transportation. The home is close to the intersection of Beaver Dam Road and Kendall Road. If interested in moving in, please call Jim Martin at 215-740-4622.

I have over 20 years sobriety, but I was just released from prison. I am on level 4 home confinement. My current host is becoming unbearable. Is it possible for me to move to an Oxford house in Wilmington?
